Good afternoon. I believe it is time for me to give you answers. About what is happening to this poor blog that I insist on messing around with at every opportunity. So here I am, explaining everything. That's if you've not given up on blogLSP due to my constant fiddling with it.

O.K., let's start from the beginning, shall we?
blogLSP started and was running from December 2007. It was a blog spin-off from my Piczo site, LSPonline (originally "leagueofsupremeplanets") and it focused on what I like to call geekoids, which are basically cult things. When Doctor Who is running, I tend to do a review of every episode, hence a review each week, except when damn eurovision is on. I also post news on upcoming geekoid movies, such as superhero movies, sci-fi etc. and do an awful lot of reviews. There was a point when a did a review of everything I watched or read! Needless to say, I have too much of a life (or I watch too much) to do that now.
For LSP, I kept the persona of the "LSPlord", a unexplained figure that was never shown. I always concealed my age, so that nobody would know how old I was, and I never spoke about my life when blogging. Because I'm just 13, I liked the idea of people reading my blog and believing that I was just an exceptionally nerdy adult. And I spent the first year of blogging doing just that- believing. But soon there was a moment when I didn't have to believe;
In 2006, I'd won an auction to meet my favourite author, horror writer, Darren Shan. I spent an hour with he and his publisher eating a pizza. Now, being an aspiring writer myself, I thoroughly enjoyed this. A year or so later, I decided that I would search for blogLsp on Google. The first result to come up was Darren Shan's official website, which featured my LSP review for one of his books. Understandably, I felt proud that he had no idea that the review had been written by me! It wasn't even a particularly positive one!!!

Despite this discovery, after a while, I felt that I should reveal my true identity to the British public, and wrote a post announcing that I would reveal myself soon in a YouTube video. So I waited until I could use a camera to film the video.
A couple of weeks later, I did indeed film it on my Grandmother's digital camera, and spent about two hours of my evening trying to upload it. After two hours, I hadn't got anywhere in my attempts to get it on the net, so I gave up, and decided I would try and upload it again next time I visited the house. But soon the Christmas hols came, and I knew that I wouldn't be visiting my Grandma for a while, so I started to make changes to my blog anyway, and put on a few pictures of me.
Christmas soon came, and I received a digital video camera from my Mum. I wanted to use it to make some V-logs, inspired by people like charlieissocoollike, and nerimon. So I recorded a few which I'm planning to upload once my editing software is sorted.
In conclusion, my plan now is to have an LSP Empire including my YouTube channel, this blog, and my proboards forum, discussLSP.
In addition to this, on the first day back to school, my mate Josh mentioned Five Awesome Guys, and we're planning to have a 5AG of our own- the only problem being that there are only currently two of us...
Moreover, I hope that Josh and I's Five Awesome Guys project goes ahead, and I hope that you enjoy the upcoming LSP Empire. It will be awesomes. But until then, that's all folks!

The Time Has Come

Good afternoon. I have something very important to tell you today. In my two month absence, I have been in a mid life crisis. I've started listening to Barry Manilow, wearing Dr. Martens etc. and have decided that I'd better write this post before I change my mind. Over the past few months I have grown tired of concealing my identity, and have decided that I should reveal to my millions of fans (lol) who I really am. Very very soon (the date will be announced shortly), I will reveal to the world in a YouTube announcement who I really am...

I'm back...

Goo afternoon. Well, I've been on my holidays to Rexel 4- it was a nice place, but the people there were a little wordy! I've got a few things to tell you about:

1. WHATEVER HAPPENED TO..?
The "Whatever Happened to...?" short stories should be online by January 2009. I've had a few setbacks in my career and so don't have much time on my hands. I'm a busy guy!

2. SERIES FOUR AWARDS
These should be online very soon so vote now or forever hold your peace.

3. THE Nth DOCTOR
I recently got this book and it has had me hooked ever since. For those who don't know, it's a guide to the seven scripts that were written for Doctor Who films between 1987 and 1996. Some of them would have made absolutely incredible films whereas some are just ridiculous- if you read it you'll understand. Included are scripts involving Pierce Brosnan as the Doctor, pre-first Doctors, black triangular TARDISes and one script where the Fourth Doctor is the central Doctor (and Ace is the central companion).

4. REVIEWS TO COME

Whatever Happened To...?

Good afternoon. Now, this will be something rather new to blogLSP. What I am about to tell you is something that blogLSP has never encountered before: a sparkling gem of revolution that will lighten up the hearts of all whovians across the cosmos. It is, ladies, gentlemen, and Raston Warrior Robots, "Whatever Happened To...?"

"Whatever Happened To...?" is a series of short stories about the adventures of ex-companions of the Doctor- ones that all viewers were intrigued to find out more about, and maybe even the more boring ones that have hidden genius within them. They will be released in threes, and will ignore all explored in novels, comic strips and audio adventures. And they will show how even the companions that did nothing but smile and wear short skirts were influenced by the Doctor. It will be rare that they will feature the Doctor, although regularly they will feature other companions/monsters from the Series. I hope you shall all enjoy. The first collection will include the adventures of Harry Sullivan, Tegan Jovanka, and Adam Mitchell, and will be released on the web in various different ways. More details will be revealed soon, but until then, that's all, folks.

Cirque Unearthly Knight Wars.

Good afternoon. Sorry that I haven't posted for a while. I'm going to make up for it with a couple of reviews and exciting things (hence the obscure title). First of all, I've recently watched the first ever Doctor Who serial, An Unearthly Child and would like to review that for you. So, here goes:

A AN UNEARTHLY CHILD
*****
RUNNING TIME: 100 mins approx. STARS: William Hartnell, Carole Ann Ford, William Russell, Jacqueline Hill.

IN A NUTSHELL:
A lovely start to Doctor Who, if dragged out a little. And have I ever mentioned my dislike to the First Doctor before, because now might be a good time?

MY HUMBLE OPINION:
Don't get me wrong, you can tell that this episode is from the '60s, but it's aged well, probably due to the fact that the majority of it is set in the prehistoric ages. But, anyhow, although there's some '60s melodrama in there, it is a decent story.
Ian, Barbara and Susan were a good choice of companions to kick off the series- it could have just as easily have been kicked off with Leela, considering the circumstances, but it wouldn't have been the same show. The audience needs somebody like them- somebody that they can relate to- it was the same with Rose in 2005.
The latter episodes, after the first, focus on battling tribes in 100, 000 B.C., a strange, yet compelling start. These episodes follow the Doctor and his companions being captured, then escaping, then being captured again, eccetera, something that went on for a little too long.
I would like to say that the First Doctor had a promising start, but unfortunately I cannot. If that grumpy old so-and-so that kidnaps innocent schoolteachers and contemplates murdering sick cavemen is my Doctor, then my name's Michael Jackson. He's changed so much for the better. And I like him as he is now. He's fresh. I guess this Doctor developed with age.
And the end of the episode is beautifully cheesy- "How's the radiation level, Susan?" "It's reading normal, Grandfather"......"DANGER!"

So, there's your first review this afternoon. Back to business, the second point is that the first picture has been released for the February Cirque Du Freak movie. Here it is, baby-

Now, this next point has been sprung on me rather unexpectedly- the new Clone Wars movie! This little funky piece of CGI Sci-fi anime is, like the 2D TV series aired on Cartoon Network, set in-between Star Wars episodes II and III and follows the kidnap of Jabba the Hutt's son. It is released in the UK on the 15th August and is being made by Warner Bros. rather than the usual 20th century Fox. To see the trailer, visit the Internet Movie Database.

And, finally, to spectacularly close the post, we have a review of the long-awaited "The Dark Knight":

THE DARK KNIGHT
*****
RUNNING TIME: 152 mins. STARS: Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman. RATING: 12A

IN A NUTSHELL:
A drastic improvement from the first in the series and an emotional scary and generally brilliant roller coaster from beginning to end. Heath Ledger was spine-chilling as the Joker and Christian Bale as good as ever as Batman. Michael Caine was great, and Morgan Freeman was the same character as usual...

MY HUMBLE OPINION:
Fantastic movie, an improvement on Batman Begins if I've ever heard of one. That first movie was a disappointment for me, so this sequel really made me feel a lot better about the future for Batman. I could go on for hours about the acting brilliance in this movie, but I won't, because I want my dinner.
The Joker was very scary. I found myself wanting to look away each time he appeared, and the only reason I didn't was because I didn't want to miss any of Ledger's performance.
A family member disliked the movie. She thought that it was trying to get cheap laughs out of gruesome death scenes, which is, although the audience did laugh, not what I think the movie was trying to achieve. There were some moments with the Joker, yes, that would make some laugh and feel guilty about it afterwards. My Dad compared the humour in the movie to Jimmy Carr, in that sometimes you shouldn't laugh, but he's funny.
(POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD)





The inclusion of Two-Face was a surprise to me, and he was a very scary character, that fitted with the plot very well indeed, again, portrayed well by the actor.
The ending was very ambitious, but I liked it, it's just what Batman's all about- he's a hero by not being a hero- beautiful.

PARENTAL GUIDANCE:
I wouldn't take any child under eight to a 12A film. But if you're wondering about content, then here it is:
This film was 15 material, but the makers were clearly scared to rate it that because it would cause much controversy. The Joker is very scary and makes reference to domestic violence and self-harming. The violence is nothing too gory, but it is suggested to be hugely horrific- the thought of some of it frightened me. There is one use of strong language.

What the hell will I blog on now?: Suggestions welcome.

Good afternoon. Here in the UK, it has been chucking it down for some days. Last night, I went to see Jools Holland and couldn't see the stage for old fogeys with excessively large umbrellas! But anyway, I still need to review the series finale. And wasn't it a whopper!

4.12/4.13 THE STOLEN EARTH/JOURNEY'S END

RUNNING TIME: 110 mins approx. STARS: David Tennant, David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Billie Piper, Freema Ageyman, John Barrowman, Elizabeth Sladen, Julian Bleach, Noel Clarke, Camille Coduri, Penelope Wilton.

IN A NUTSHELL:

Yes, you are counting right- there are six stars. Sorry, but that beast of an episode warranted more than the "Maximum" five! It gave Donna an original, yet tear jerking farewell and all the other returning characters, pulled it off spectacularly (apart from Martha, whose acting was largely naff as usual).

MY HUMBLE OPINION:

If I could get away with it I'd just post "Wow" hundreds of times in this section, but I'm far more intelligent than that, aren't I, so I'll post something constructive. I cried twice in this story, something that I hardly ever do during an episode. I cried first at the end of "The Stolen Earth" when the Doctor and Rose were running towards each other, and for a second time when Donna had to be left with Wilf and Sylvia, in blissful ignorance of her adventures. Oh, and for the record, I'm not a fan of Sylvia Noble at all. She gets on my nerves even more than Francine Jones does. The Doc. needs to start choosing companions with better Mums.

Julian Bleach did a fantastic Davros. Russy kept the ranting, which was an excellent decision- you can't have Davros without the ranting! I also thought that giving Davros a mechanical hand was a good decision- that rubber brown one was spectacularly naff!

Reference was made to Genesis, something that doesn't happen very often in new Doctor Who. I always smile when they make reference to something old.

The Sarah Jane Adventures is now officially canon in my opinion as a crossover has occurred. And it's occurred in a big way- not just a fleeting reference to the Trickster like in Turn Left.

There was something not right when the other Doctor and Rose kissed, because he's not the Doctor. However hard you try, he's not the Doctor- it's like replacing me with another dude who's identical in every single way. It's not the same!

Midnight----Turn Left------and a new title revealed.

Good afternoon. Sorry I keep having to double-up on the reviews- I have NO time on my hands. So much to do- no time to do it, eh? Well, anyway, you're due two reviews- Midnight, and Turn Left. So, first up, is Midnight...

4.10 MIDNIGHT

RUNNING TIME: 45 mins approx. STARS: David Tennant, Catherine Tate, David Troughton.

IN A NUTSHELL:

This is a Marmite episode- you either love it or you hate it. A friend of mine described it as the "cr*ppiest episode ever", but her opinion doesn't matter. I'm here to give my opinion;

MY HUMBLE OPINION:

I can understand why this episode wouldn't appeal to some. There was no huge flying saucers, or Daleks, or colossal monsters, or Bad Wolves, or explosions; it was understated and rather emotional. That was what another friend said when we were chatting about the episode. She asked me when I was doing a review of Midnight, and then proceeded to give me her opinion. Get a blog, woman!

Anyway, back to the review (sorry about that little tantrum there). The lack of Donna was unfortunate, though it did allow Wussell to do more with the Doctor than he could have done if Donna was present. Sitting sunbathing indoors is such a Donnaish thing to do.

I've given it four stars instead of five because the characters were characatures. Jethro was stereo-typical teenage and the Professor guy was stereo-typical Scientist. Those parents were just boring, now, weren't they?! It was a bit too cheesy and camp (Oh-I've just described Russell T Davies).

Also, it had "episode-before-the-finale" syndrome in that every proper fan was urging it to be next week and waiting patiently for the next time preview. It's something we all do.

The next review is for Turn Left- a great episode.

4.11 TURN LEFT

RUNNING TIME: 45 mins. approx. STARS: David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Billlie Piper, Bernard Cribbins, Bad Wolf

IN A NUTSHELL:

Fantastic episode that proved that "What if?" is a terrifying question. Donna turned right rather than left, and it caused utter catastrophe (both with characters dying and the chronology, but we won't even go into that).

MY HUMBLE OPINION:

I thought that Turn Left was brilliant. Eyes were rolled as I chanted the production code of each episode referenced as the episode went on. You could tell that my family thought I was very sad. Rose's return was rather spectacular, but has Billie Piper had some more lip surgery since the last time we saw her because her lips were massive and she had a lisp! And what is it with those coloured jackets- Martha had a red one, Rose a blue. I tell you what- that costume department can't get enough of the good ol' brightly coloured jackets!

In parts, it reminded me of 3.13 in that it focused on this bleak world in times of crisis.

I think that Bernard Cribbins's character, Wilf, is outstanding and should serve as a long term companion. It'd be good to have an old fogey in the TARDIS.

Overall, this was a great episode and I quite honestly don't have much more to say about it, just watch out for those two words...

The title of next episode has been revealed to be "The Stolen Earth" and some more characters have been confirmed to return. Jackie, Mickey, Gwen, Ianto and Harriet Jones are definitely returning, and the rumour is very strong on Davros. I'm well excited. That's all, folks.

Welcome to the all new re-vamped blogLSP!

Good afternoon. blogLSP is back, and it's better than ever. This post alone, I have lined up for you an introduction to some new features and two Doctor Who reviews! O.K., so allons-y, first up, LSP is getting a myspace. It will help me to get new readers, and get a better relationship with the ones I already have. The only reason I haven't made it yet is because I'm a busy busy guy. I have a new sponsor because Stylux were being little so and sos about my methods of promotion. My new sponsor is comp-forums.blogspot.com, also run by a guy on his own, so don't let the dude tell you otherwise. Anyway, let's crack on with the review of "The Unicorn and the Wasp"- better than I had anticipated.

4.7 THE UNICORN AND THE WASP.

RUNNING TIME: 45 mins approx. STARS: David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Fenella Woolgar

IN A NUTSHELL:

What a rather surprisingly fantastic episode! Initially, when I discovered that the episode was to be a comedy written by the same writer as 3.2, I was not, pardon the pun, amused. Comedy Doctor Whos are not usually very funny. Usually just the Doctor doing a lot of silly voices and making silly jokes, but this was different. It was a comedy Doctor Who like I've never seen one before. L...O...L.

MY HUMBLE OPINION:

Well, well, well- the third writer to appear in new Doctor Who... on a comedy. Charles Dickens worked, Shakespeare didn't. You just can't do Shakespeare. Especially when played by a Mancunian. He looked like he'd been pulled straight out of the Happy Mondays to be perfectly honest. However, Agatha Christie was in a different league all together. A friend of mine actually described this episode as being "like the best Doctor Who ever." I wouldn't go that far, but it's definitely up there in the best of Series Four. The use of Cluedo characters was funny without being silly, and the humour was O.K. because it was the type of humour where the characters don't know they're funny, like in a sit-com. Catherine Tate's acting was, like in previous episodes, exceptionally good, and I am starting to question whether she is better than Billie Piper was when she was Rose. She's most definitely been a stronger character so far- I can see that only from Episode 7. There wasn't much action, but that totally fitted the episode.

Moving on to 4.8, can I say that this is the best episode of Series Four so far. Here we go- it's Silence in the Library, ladies and gentlemen:

4.8/4.9 SILENCE IN THE LIBRARY/FOREST OF THE DEAD

RUNNING TIME: 190 mins approx. STARS: David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Alex Kingston, Colin Salmon.

IN A NUTSHELL:

I was tempted to give this story six stars. It is yet another masterpiece from the genius that is Steven Moffatt. The character of River was portrayed beautifully by Kingston and she is a character that I can't wait to see again. Like I say always, great acting from both Tate and Tennant.

MY HUMBLE OPINION:

Well, well, well- I'm now even more excited about Moffatt taking over from Russy Wussy. He's written THE best episodes in modern Doctor Who, including Blink and The Empty Child. His monsters are always the best because he deals with everyday things and makes them scary- children searching for their mummies, statues, and now the most ordinary of all- shadows. His stories are much more complex than Wusssell's and to put it plainly, he rocks-my-socks.

The concept of river is oh so very interesting- a companion from the future, who knows the Doctor's name! I'm starting to think she'll end up being a Danielle Rousseau-style character, who pops up every now and again when you've forgotten about her. She may turn up in the Series finale, she may not. I'm not so sure, but I think that Jenny definitely will. It will be a missed opportunity if she does not. 8.8 left us with almost as much ambiguity as LOST, but unlike LOST, 8.9 solved it all, piece by piece.

The one word I would use to describe this would be "phenomenal", which is a word I use very sparsely. Just fantastic.

The Wait is Over: blogLSP's jumbo special is here!

(Good afternoon) It's here! The jumbo special is finally here! Three times the reviews, three times the content, three times the fun! It's been nearly three weeks since I last reviewed a Doctor Who and it's now time for me to review The Sontaran Stratagem. By the way, there's this guy going round, from a galaxy far far away and for some reason, he's out to get me and this blog. The LSElord's his name. If he sends you any e-mails, ignore them.

4.4/4.5 THE SONTARAN STRATAGEM/THE POISON SKY

RUNNING TIME: 90mins approx. STARS: David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Freema Ageyman, Christopher Ryan.


IN A NUTSHELL:

A fairly good story, but I found myself picking at my nails or stroking the dog in unnecessary parts. A nice return of the Sontarans, but my friend said they weren't scary enough. I told him he'd be scared if he saw one in a dark back alley. He agreed, and told me he'd run if he saw a walking potato anywhere.



MY HUMBLE OPINION:

It was a good story, as good as Planet of the Ood, better than Partners in Crime, but not as good as The Fires of Pompeii. However, I think the latter can be excused as Fires was an exceptionally good episode. Martha's return was dealt with well- she's a different character now, but Ageyman's acting was very poor. Catherine Tate wipes the floor with her. She provides that awful new Doctor Who cheese, the sort of "It's Martha and I'm bringing you back to Earth!" It's all really staged and unnatural- one wouldn't say that on the phone. The story was good continuity wise, explicitly referencing the UNIT dating controversy, bringing back the Valiant and confirming that the Brig is still alive and that the name of the Sontaran home world is Sontar. This was only said in the Doctor Who Role-playing Game, which I have by the way! I got it for a tenner at Galaxy Four in Sheffield, but anyway, back to reviewing the episode.

Luke Rattigan was a rather odd character, imho, in that his American accent was awful and unnecessary. Once it was discovered that he couldn't do an American accent to save his life, he should have abandoned the whole idea and been British. Or is that actor Irish, because that's what he sounded like halfway through 4.4! Overall, an OK story.



OK then, well I've decided to forget about reviewing LOST, because then I'll have to keep doing it, and I can't be bothered, to be quite frank. So, instead, before I move on to 4.6, I shall review Book 7 in The Demonata, Death's Shadow;



DEATH'S SHADOW

****1/2
AUTHOR: Darren Shan SERIES: The Demonata BOOK: seven

IN A NUTSHELL: I nearly gave this five stars, but it lacked the emotion that some of the others had, especially in Saga. So, I compromised at four and a half. But on a positive note, it was an action packed gruesome monster of a tale with an ending to die for.

(Spoilers for books 1-6 below)

MY HUMBLE OPINION:
I loved this book. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that yesterday, I got it at 12:30 and had read it by 21:00! That, ladies and gentlemen, is what Darren Shan does to you. Grubbs isn't at the heart of the tale- it is focused on and told by Bec, who reappeared at the close of book 6. The story starts, and she is struggling to cope with life in the 21st century. She is feeling lonelier than ever, as Dervish is treating her as an interpreter for the dead Bill-E. It seems like a calm tale at the start, but as usual demons and creatures are never far away. But this time, Lord Loss is not the prime menace. A more powerful being, "the Shadow" as it has been dubbed by Beranabus is about to take control. It's big, it's bad, and it means business. Go out there and get this book. It's definitely worth the £13 it costs in hardback.

So, anyway, The Doctor's Daughter. Here goes:

4.6 THE DOCTOR'S DAUGHTER

IN A NUTSHELL:

Wow. That was awesome. Tear-jerkingly awesome.

MY HUMBLE OPINION:

By the near end of this episode, there was a salty tear in the corner of my eye, and that's something not even 4.2 did. Ageyman's acting was once again poor, but Moffett's made up for it. There was something about the way she played the character that made you believe she had the Doctor in her. I really saw the David Tennant coming out in her, especially in that scene when she noted "I love the running" in that Doctorish way. There would be no better person to play this part. The Hath remind me of the Mon Calamari from STAR WARS a lot, but I guess that's OK. They're from a water world after all.

Really, this episode needed to be a two parter. The Sontaran one should have been one part and this two, giving the Doctor more time to bond with Jenny and Martha more time to bond with crazy Hath fish dude.

And one more thing- if you're going to make a clone person, perfect for warfare, you put them in some fierce body armour. Titanium, maybe. One doesn't make them in a short sleeved T-shirt and a pair of combats! The army aren't going "Well our primary objective is to make her look attractive.", are they?!

Haha- fooled you! No review this week guys!

Good afternoon. Ha- I fooled you didn't I? I'm not giving my review until at the earliest, May the 4th. I'm not giving a review for each part of the episode, but I shall do an overall one after the Poison Sky has aired. However, the problem is, that I have made the mistake of taking a family camping trip this weekend, therefore missing the next episodes of both Doctor Who and LOST! I do no know what I shall do. I really do not. I may seriously start to cry.

But oh well.

Anyway, I have both uploaded and discovered some new videos on You-of-the-Tube.

WHAT IS blogLSP? FROM ODDY THE OOD.

My inflatable Ood gives one an insight into this site with the help of his friends, Silly Slitheen, the Ninth Doctor, Superman, Batman, Ferris Bueller and an unlikely Dalek with no eyestalk. This video was incredibly fun to make, as I used only my phone, a purple felt tip, some A4 paper and a few toys. I was in the house on my own and was very bored. Very bored indeed.

ODDY THE OOD AND THE WONDERS OF blogLSP.

Well, if there's one word to describe this, it's poor. And if there's one hyphenated word, it's slap-dash. And if there's four words it's slightly out of tune. I hit many many wrong chords, and at one point mean to film Oddy and don't. [head in hands]

So, there you go. In fact, I've found a better word- embarrassing.

But, to come back from defeat (and utter humiliation), I have also discovered some. These Asian guys have made some of the most side-splitting videos I have ever seen (and mean that).

Series Four Schedule (updated version)

Good evening. I have just finished watching the latest episode, so I guess it's time for a review;
4.3 PLANET OF THE OOD.

RUNNING TIME: 45 mins. STARS: David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Tim McInnery

IN A NUTSHELL:
Not as good as last week, but an excellent episode. I enjoyed it a lot and thought that it provided what was missing from episodes 2.8 and 2.9. The Ood were shown in a different, but appropriate way and we got to see the sort of Prologue, the missing chapter to The Impossible Planet.

MY HUMBLE OPINION:
Well, that episode had a rather high budget, didn't it now? It was creative, to say the least, and, as I say, provided a missing chapter that I wasn't expecting. I thought it's only connection to 2.8 and 2.9 would be the Ood and a few necessary fleeting references (because in the BBC's view it's light Saturday telly that doesn't need to be complicated) but it was a whole missing part of the earlier story. It was set at the same time, for a start. Everything that we wanted to know about the Ood in that story, we found out here. The Doctor solved everything that we wanted solved. It was all very very good. Rabid Ood- now that is groovy. I thought Tim McInnery was good as the baddie. Initially, I anticipated him to be rather hammy, seeing him in Blackadder an' all, but he was good. He was good. Losing his hair eh...
Catherine Tate once again proved that she can act beautifully seriously in the singing scene. And speaking of singing, what was the Ood's "your song will end" comment about?! Surely he won't regenerate at the close of this season. They said he won't. But then again, they say a lot of things.

The Fires of Pompeii: LSP's Verdict.

Good afternoon. In this post I shall proceed to follow the good ol' fashioned blogLSP tradition of reviewing the latest Doctor Who. Before I start, I know I should save this for the review, but WOW;

4.2 THE FIRES OF POMPEII.

RUNNING TIME: 45 mins. STARS: David Tennant, Catherine Tate.

IN A NUTSHELL:
If Episode One was the SEGA megadrive, The Fires of Pompeii would be the Wii. Definitely in my top ten new series episodes and Catherine Tate, I love you! Your acting is that of my dreams, you amazing woman!

MY HUMBLE OPINION:
It was so much better than last week that one would think it was a different show. There was no flashing space ships flying above London exceedingly low. There was no insolent reporters hiding in toilet cubicles. There was no nagging Mums. There was no former-soap stars that have enough ham and cheese to make 50,000 sandwiches. And there certainly wasn't any comedy delayed falls. What there was was a fantastic supporting cast, a believable historic setting, a monster that had jumped through a magic door from Lord of the Rings, some superb acting from the Tate and a water pistol! The episode's ending was it's peak. Tate's emotion in the end section was to die for and the whole theme is something Doctor Who hardly ever deals with. It was so so much better than last series' tongue-in-cheek, The Shakespeare Code history-wise as well. Fantastic.

So, as I always say, keep LOST-theorying, keep watching Who, but more importantly, come back to blogLSP. And be good! That's all, folks.

I Want An Adipose!

Good Afternoon all. I hope you enjoyed last post's geek test. If you haven't tried that, give it a go. Are you really a true geek? But, today, as I promised, I have a review of Partners in Crime.



PARTNERS IN CRIME:

RUNNING TIME: 45 mins. STARS: David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Bernard Cribbins, Sarah Lancashire, Billie Piper.

IN A NUTSHELL:
Pretty much the same kind of start to a season as we usually get. It wasn't dissimilar to 1.1 ROSE and 3.1 SMITH AND JONES in that it had the whole light-hearted London invasion element which is starting to wear on me. In parts, the episode was great, but too silly in bits.

MY HUMBLE OPINION:
I enjoyed this episode. It had a compelling start with a nice effect. But soon the episode became very predictable. It followed this sort of generic Who template that seems to be applied to first episodes, mid-season lifters and Christmas specials. First, an introduction to the situation. Then, the Doctor and his companion arrive and realise there's something wrong. The companion's family are also always there to hinder the Doctor. Next, the Doctor babbles for a while, then he defeats the baddie and says "Well, that was good, wasn't it?". And WHOOSH, we move on to a better episode. One thing I do proclaim, however, is that I want an Adipose! I want to keep one in a little cage in my bedroom and tickle it. This seems negative,but let's hope tonight's episode is better. Because did I see Miss Foster do a comedy delayed fall at one point?! Russell- don't do that again. You're on your last warning.

Vantage Point: LSP's verdict.

Good Afternoon. I sincerely hope that you enjoyed my poetic addition to blogLSP earlier this week. I'm quite a poet if I do say so myself, but I don't very often put the skill into practice. When I was very young, I went to a before-school breakfast club and one time it was my mother's birthday. I was very very bored as usual as the colouring books had all been torn and destroyed (they didn't appeal to me anyway), the Lego was being used by some rather unpleasant boys with pug faces, and the same boys were the reason that I didn't go anywhere near the dolls house. So I took note of the fact that it was my mother's birthday and wrote a poem entitled "Be A Good Lad". Those were the days...
But, returning to topic now- it's time I stopped reminiscing about the "good old days" and started to give you today's review: a review of the action-packed thriller, Vantage Point.
VANTAGE POINT:

RATING: 12A RUNNING TIME: 89 mins STARS: Matthew Fox, Sigourney Weaver, Forest Whitaker

IN A NUTSHELL:
Vantage Point is incredible. Definitely a movie worth seeing. And worth seeing at the cinema. The car chases, action and explosions are visually superb on the big screen and the acting is great. However, it's not a film to watch when you're tired. This movie needs your full attention.

MY HUMBLE OPINION:
I absolutely love this movie. I went into the cinema feeling okeydokey... and came out gasping for breath. From the first minute to the last, Vantage Point is a "roller coaster ride". This movie is the best I've seen since Superman Returns. The same twenty minutes or so is shown about four or five times and despite this it doesn't get tedious. I think it's probably the expert acting that stops it from being boring in anyway. Matthew Fox gives a superb performance as usual. And you could say the same for every other member of the cast. Ghostbusters and Galaxy Quest star, Sigourney Weaver also made an appearance as head of a TV news studio. There is not one moment in this film where it is quiet. There is not a moment in this film when at least one person isn't screaming. There is not one moment in this movie where a gun isn't involved! But one thing that there will be is numerous almighty gasps from the audience! It is a brilliant film. Brilliant.

PARENTAL GUIDANCE:
I wouldn't take any child under eight to a 12A film. But if you're wondering about content, then here it is:
There is a lot of gun violence in the film, but not a high amount of gore and blood. There's frequent language throughout, and once strong. It's quite hard to follow and understand for young children. Cheers. Anyway, that's all folks!

It's back and it appears to be bigger and better than ever!

Good Afternoon- I've got lots to tell you,
lots about LOST and about Doctor Who,
I've added a theory on Claire versus Kate,
And on Saturday the Doctor's back with Catherine Tate!

An evening this week I was lying about,
and saw a new Doctor Who trailer is out,
She says "creatures of metal and creatures of fire",
My lord! Have you seen the Sontarans' attire?

They're fitted with helmets and costumes of doom,
Much similar to Series Three's Judoon,
The Daleks are back and they're at their best,
But to be honest I was hoping they'd give them a rest!

The Ood appear in the trailer as well,
We've not seen them since those pits of hell,
Theoretically they won't be evil this time,
No electrocution or evil red eyes!

But you never know what T. Davies'll do,
'cause after all it is Doctor Who!
Surely they won't leave them as the good guys,
They'll introduce someone bigger in size.

But coming over the return of the bomb,
I've been posting on Lost hyphen theories dot com,
I wrote my own theory on how Kate got the baby,
And how she battled Claire and even killed her maybe.
