4 days to go- Time Paradoxes

Thankyou for your comments. I took a look at all the sites you suggested. "How many Martys" was an interesting article, displaying many of the logical problems with time time travel. Howwever, I think that the comment at the foot of the article displays no point whatsoever. It reads "And how do we know that infinite Martys would appear? Has time travel been done yet? Has this been demonstrated yet? How could we know if it's never been tested out and done?". Well, Dayofthetentacle, this is completely irrelevant. The posters are arguing within the logic of the trilogy!

Good afternoon all. The points of wideawakejake1 have encouraged me to blog on the subject of time logic and paradoxes. So, I'm going to commment on a couple of things, the first being related to the Back to the Future trilogy.

i.) How many Deloreans?
At a particulair point in BTTFII, there are an excessive number of Delorean time machines around in Hill Valley, 1955. The plot of BTTFIII mixes things up a little. The Deloreans present are listed below. Of course, it's the same car (I'd laugh if they crashed into eachother!)
a.) The original time machine that Marty drove to 1955 in BTTFI.
b.) The one that Mary and Doc. used to get to 1955 again in BTTFII.
c.) The one that old Biff Tannen used to get from 2015 to 1955 to deliver the Almanac to himself,
and finally (the one no one thought of)............
d.) There is infact one buried under the graveyard that's been there since 1885! This car is used in BTTFIII. This version is what point 2 concerns;

ii.) The predestination theory
The predestination theory is as follows;
A hypothetical example is that a young boy is given a fobwatch by a mysterious old woman. Ten years later, this boy gives this watch back to the old woman. She then travels back in time and gives the watch to the boy, who gives it to the woman, and so on. Therefore this was all predestined to happen. The old woman didn't change the past. It was already changed.
So, if the predestination theory applies to BTTF, then Marty didn't have to catch the lightning on the clock tower- he could have just used the other car that was, unbeknown to him, buried right beneath his feet. However, he's then stuffed at the end of BTTFII when he can't get home!
